Did You Buy Your Teenager A Preowned Vehicle?

by Max Day

If you have a new driver in the family, maybe you thought that he or she could share a car with another family member. How long did that arrangement last? For example, did your child need the family car for an important job interview at the same time that your spouse needed to be at a doctor's appointment? if scenes like that one have happened too many times, perhaps you came to the conclusion that you needed to buy an additional vehicle.

If you are in the financial position to buy your child something like a brand new sports car, he or she is a mighty lucky dog. On the other hand, even if you are wealthy, maybe you realized that it would be best for your child's first car to be a pre-owned one. Or, a pre-owned car might be what your budget would allow. If you selected a reliable, safe car, but it needs some repairs, no worries. From minor scratches to replacing a bumper, here are some ideas for you.

Minor Auto Body Repair - Does the car you purchased for your child look pretty good except for a few scratches and some minor dents? If that's the case, an auto body repair shop (such as Prime Body & Paint) can probably do the job in a day or two. The workers at the repair shop will have the training and the experience to pay attention to detail, so that every single scratch and dent can be repaired.

Maybe there's a small crack in the car's windshield. That might not be a big problem now. However, you know that the small crack might eventually lead to real window damage. The workers at the auto body repair shop can take care of that, too.

Major Auto Body Repair - Perhaps there was more damage than a few scratches and dents. For example, perhaps a bumper needs to be totally replaced. If that's the case, the repair shop might need to special order a new bumper for the older car. Obviously, that would necessitate the car being in the shop for a longer time.

The same goes for a total paint job for the car. If the paint was dull or hail-damaged, you more than likely want to get the car totally repainted, don't you? If that's the case, the shop will have state-of-the-art equipment to give the car a paint job that will look like a brand new car. If you do need to have the car totally repainted, consider asking your child to pick a color that he or she would love to have. Soon, your teenager will be driving a very nice looking car.
